UK’s telephone calls, by category 1995-2002
The
chart shows the time spent by UK’s people on different types of telephone calls
between 1995 and 2002.
You can
see this chart Local-fixed line calls were the highest throughout the
period,rising from 71 billion minutes in 1995 to just under 90 billion in 1999.
After peaking at 90 billion the following year, these calls had fallen back to
the 1995 figure by 2002.
National and international-fixed
line calls grew steadily from 38 billion to 61 billion minutes at the end of the period in question, through
the growth slowed over the last three years. Next, there was increase in Mobile
calls from 3 to 45 billion minutes. This increase was particularly noticeable
between in 1998-2002. During which this time use of mobile calls tripled.
Finally, In comparison the highest
jump was local-fixed line calls from 90
billion minutes in 1999 and the lowest in 71 billion minutes in 1995 to 2002.
During mobile calls the lowest use to 3 billion minutes in 1995.
